4. Environmental
Aspects
-Over 3 million
dollars ($3,000,000) invested over the past seven years to Install
State of the Art wastewater treatment plants in three mills.
-Reduction of the water usage to one ninth of the original operation
and water pollution has reached levels well below National Regulations.
-This is the 4th year the we receive both:
.Bandera Blanca (White Flag) granted by the Ministry of Health
.Bandera Ecologica (Ecological Flag) granted by the Ministry of
Environment.
."AA" Classification for Beneficio San Antonio and Beneficio
San Juanillo, which is the highest recognition in terms of ecological
efforts, granted by the Ministry of Environment.
On the future
projects we are thinking on two basic programs to work for:
-PROJECTS AGAINST THE DEFORESTATION
*Donation of funds for Local Programs against the Deforestation.
-DAYCARE
CENTER
*For the kids of the people who work at the farms, mainly during
the harvesting season.
